My aunt has been a resident at Maycroft for over three years and her care has been excellent throughout. The staff are all very considerate and caring, nothing is too much trouble. The staff are also consistent, the home retains staff and so the residents are greeted by familiar and friendly faces, which makes a huge difference to the residents general well-being. My aunt knows all the care staff and having that relationship makes her more comfortable and settled. The care home is a new build and so is very well designed with respect to those who are less mobile and it also has a fresh and new feel to it, more like a hotel than a residential home. The food is of a very high standard, three meals a day plus afternoon tea served in the bistro with freshly made cake and biscuits, or fresh fruit if preferred. I would definitely recommend this care home.
My father has been a resident at Maycroft Manor for several months now. It is a lovely modern home with very nice rooms equivalent to a good 4* hotel and excellent facilities. My dad requires considerable medical and personal attention and he is very happy with his care. I am absolutely delighted by the attention that all the staff give to my dad and the other residents. I visit a couple of times a week and Maycroft is always a warm, happy, cheerful, peaceful home. The residents are often charming and the staff are completely delightful - they enjoy working with the elderly and it shows - the residents and other families I have spoken with all say that they feel safe and well-cared for by friendly, helpful staff. There is a review below that is extremely negative and it puzzles me greatly, as it is so different from everything that I have experienced that I wonder whether the reviewer has muddled up which care home this is, or is perhaps an internet troll. I couldn't let it go unchallenged. Personally I highly recommend Maycroft as probably the best care home in Brighton and Hove.

Beautiful nursing home with lovely caring staff. My mother in law was here for a period of respite for 12 weeks and she was so happy with everything. The home is very attractive and well thought out with fun activites that take place every day. My mother in law felt like she was on holiday and didn't want to return to her flat! I really appreciate all the staff there did for her, the manager really helped me with advice and guidance and everyone was helpful and kind. Highly recommended!!
My aunt is a resident at this home and I am confident of the wonderful care that the staff there provide which is shown in my aunts happiness and wellbeing. I live out of the area and being able to have the piece of mind that this home gives me is a god send. My aunt is delighted with the home which means I can relax in the knowledge that she is well looked after.

This is the second home my mother has lived in and every time I visit I can't believe how lucky I am to have found such a lovely place for her. ALL the staff are wonderful from groundsmen, to cooks, to carers all working together to make this a happy, safe and caring place for the residents. Residents often tell me how much they like it their and how kind and friendly the staff are, which as old people are often very quick to criticise always seems like very special endorsement.

My husband and I were recommended Birch Grove when we looking for somewhere to care for my father-in-law in Brighton near us. After visiting a few homes in the city, first impressions with Birch Grove was that it was friendly and real. The decor wasn't perfect, but it was clean and the feel of the place immediately struck a chord. We felt an immediate sense of trust and confidence in the manager Claire and deputy manager Preetha and I am pleased to say that this turned out to be justified. In fact all of the staff were very caring, capable and personable on all of our visits and my father-in-law made no complaints at all throughout his short stay. He arrived at Birch Grove in ill health and sadly he deteriorated due to his frailty and old age, having been a resident for only a month. The staff nursed him with dignity, right up until the end, when he passed with his family around him. Thanks you Birch Grove, we are very glad we chose you.

I have recently been discharged from Highgrove after spending around two months there, recovering from a major operation. I found the room comfortable and the staff very polite and friendly, and always ready to help! Meals were very good and there was a good choice of alternatives if I didn't like the what was on offer on any particular day! I would gladly recommend this home to anyone who needs long term or temporary care!
